Just back from south of the vast mountain vistas of the south island of New Zealand, and pleasantly surprised to see that a new poem, ‘Lake Walk’ has been commended in the ‘New England Review’ Poetry competition and will be published in their next edition. The competition was won by Steve Evans from South Australia. I was surprised because I didn’t realise it was in the competition, and had sent it in for possible publication. Pleased though, and looking forward to seeing it in print.
Lucky also in NZ to be there for the Montana Poetry Reading with James Norcliffe and others reading at Christchurch Arts Centre. Some more thoughts on that when I’ve had to time to reflect on it all.
