Wordsworth knew it, Coleridge knew, Thoreau knew it, and my friend and fellow writer Beth Spencer knew it ages before me: walking helps open the mind up somehow. There’s something about walking that is at a pace and effort and rhythm that starts things happening positively in the brain.

Pity then to get caught in a downpour as I walked along the beach tonight!
